Oh, there you are, LA

You may recall a BOTB post back in April about how badly the Dodgers were missing Justin Turner. With any team, I hate to put any highs or lows on the shoulders of just one player, but in Los Angeles, it seems this is actually the case. The day that Justin Turner returned to the lineup, the Dodgers didn’t even have a winning record. I mean, they still don’t, but at least they’re closer. They’ve won 9 of their last 14 games. Listen, I’m not saying they’re PERFECT.

The Dodgers are hot, and finally showing off what everyone expected to see coming into the 2018 season – a winning team. It didn’t seem like a lot to ask from the defending National League Champions, up until recently, the Dodgers were flailing. Now they’ve pulled back the curtain and finally announced they’ve arrived to the show. Better late than never.

Most of their offense comes off the bats of Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig. Unfortunately, the  youngins are still slumping, but not enough to keep LA down. Even with Kershaw currently on the DL, the arms of Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling, Walker Buehler, Alex Wood and closer Kenley Jansen are owning opposing offense. I also just named basically every Dodgers pitcher which goes to show their depth and dominance.

Comeback victories, stolen bases, Matt Kemp chucking the deuces up. This is what we came for. Can’t wait to see an Arrieta-Maeda matchup tonight in Los Angeles.
